Beyond The Agriculture Green Revolution
To shift the focus From thinking of agriculture as a problem
solved-To thinking agriculture as a solution and many other problems, but we don’t
consider agriculture as a problem or solution. india is a surplus country because
of green revolution in producing commodities and surplus in calories and
terribly deficient in iron, zinc, calcium and so many other nutrients what we
are getting in food, the poor consumed disproportionate of cereals for to access
very cheaply it means just to fill the stomach, rice is polished beyond the
recognition, food system need to be adapt especially rise in percapita of
income and inequalities and distribution.
Agriculture:It can do
many things the food and nutrional security can met, while meeting the
future needs agriculture can contribute,Green house gases- a lot it come from
agriculture, due to poor agricultural practices and lack of appropriate and
less aware about modern technology and wrong crop patterns.
Income and employment: agriculture plays a major
role in providing employment creation, mainly because of sustainable
intensification, the major drawback is investments are only in production
side increasing yields and restriction
of food parks where these against to the farming community in order to
facilitate exports, allocation of funds for procuring different crops bajra in
rajasthan and rabi in Karnataka,The farmers who received inputs in different
forms in different ways through subsidies some of them get fertilizers and some
other pesticides and and some other water and same seeds these are inputs are multiplicative rather than additive.
The rich are consuming millets and poor are unable to meet due to inflation and
poor people are unable to access millets or cereals they are eating rice through PDS for lower prices
